Thankfulness Heals

These past few days, I had the opportunity of sharing to others some sad and disappointing moments in my life.

These are the life stories that others would not want to share. These are the moments that tested my faith and strength. These are the moments when others take advantage of me or I made a wrong decision or I reacted in ungodly ways. These are my failures, my discouragements.

But when I look back and recall these seemingly unfortunate scenes, all I can say now is, “Thanks be to God”.

look back

I’m grateful that life allowed me to go through those trials and still, I came out alive. I went through all those with more faith and strength for the journey ahead.

I learned to be thankful not only for the growth and learning I acquired from these bitter moments, but I am thankful because I can still live life with peace and joy.

My past and failures do not determine who I am today. But they serve as milestones that warns and encourages me along the way.

“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good” Genesis 50:20a

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God” Romans 8:28a

There is a lot to be thankful for in life. Big things, little things, simple things, happy things, sad things.. every thing!

When I learned to thank the Lord even for these moments of deep sorrows, I experienced a sense of healing which enables me to continue living life today and, thankfully, tomorrow.

Thankfulness heals. I am thankful that I can be thankful with whatever life throws at me. What are you thankful for today?
